Every lesson helps shape who a child is becoming. At Gardendale Christian Academy, we partner with families to nurture faith, develop understanding, strengthen character, and prepare students for the next stage of learning and life.

Our Mission
Gardendale Christian Academy seeks to further God’s Kingdom by partnering with families to develop the whole child—spiritually, academically, socially, and personally. Through biblical truth, purposeful instruction, and a caring school community, we help students think biblically, learn diligently, serve others, and live with integrity.
Our Vision
We desire to see students become biblically grounded, growing in wisdom, excellent in learning, faithful in character, and ready for the next level. Our work reaches beyond preparation for the next grade; we are laying a foundation for a lifetime of faithfulness, learning, stewardship, and service.
Five Pillars of a Flourishing Student
These five commitments guide what we teach, how we encourage and correct, and the habits we help children build. Together, they give our school and families a shared purpose for each child’s growth.
Biblically Grounded
Everything begins with God’s Word. Through Bible instruction, prayer, chapel, Scripture memorization, and a biblical worldview across subjects, students learn that truth, identity, and purpose are rooted in God. We help them connect what they believe with how they live.
Growing in Wisdom
Wisdom teaches children how to think, discern, choose, and live. We encourage thoughtful questions, careful reasoning, problem-solving, and the application of biblical truth. Students learn to reflect on their choices and use mistakes as opportunities to grow.
Excellent in Learning
Excellence is not perfection. It is faithfully doing our very best. We build strong reading, clear writing, mathematical confidence, curiosity, organization, and healthy study habits. Clear instruction, meaningful feedback, and intentional assessment help us recognize progress and identify where additional support is needed.
Faithful in Character
Character is formed through daily choices. We teach and model honesty, respect, kindness, responsibility, courage, and self-control. Students learn to keep their word, accept correction, resolve conflict respectfully, and do what is right when no one is watching. Accountability is joined with grace and opportunities for restoration.
Ready for the Next Level
Readiness grows as children practice independence, perseverance, communication, and responsibility. We help students learn to manage assignments, organize their work, ask for help, and contribute to others. These habits prepare them for the demands of junior high, senior high, and life.
The Student We Hope to Send Forward
By the end of fifth grade, our goal is for each student to have a growing understanding of Scripture, the ability to think carefully and make wise choices, and strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics. We want children to approach learning with curiosity, communicate respectfully, organize their work, persevere through difficulty, and take responsibility for their actions.
We are praying for and working toward students who carry truth in their thinking, integrity in their choices, and confidence in their next steps.
Growth We Can See
Our vision should be visible in a child’s daily life. Reading assessments, classroom work, writing samples, teacher observations, and conversations with families help us understand each student’s progress. We use that information to guide instruction, recognize growth, and respond to learning needs with care.
A Partnership with Families
Children flourish when home and school work together. We value clear communication, shared expectations, and parents who take an active interest in their child’s learning and character. Together, we reinforce biblical truth, encourage faithful effort, and help children build habits that will serve them for years to come.

Dear GCA Families,
Thank you for considering Gardendale Christian Academy and for the trust you place in us as we serve your family. Choosing a school means entrusting others with a precious part of your child’s life. I take that responsibility seriously, and I want our school to be a place where your child is known, encouraged, challenged, and loved.
My vision for GCA is Education for Flourishing Students. We want to help children become biblically grounded, growing in wisdom, excellent in learning, faithful in character, and ready for the next level. That purpose should shape every lesson, every correction, every encouragement, and every conversation with a parent.
We will encourage students to ask questions, think carefully, work diligently, and take responsibility for their choices. Excellence means giving faithful effort and making steady progress. When children struggle, our responsibility is to understand the need, provide appropriate support, and work with families toward growth. When correction is needed, we seek to bring together clear expectations, accountability, and grace.
As a ministry of Gardendale Church of the Nazarene, GCA’s Christian foundation remains central to school life. Bible instruction, prayer, Scripture memorization, and chapel help students connect biblical truth with everyday decisions. Our religious instruction follows the statements of faith presented in the school handbook.
My experience in ministry, military service, and educational support has strengthened my conviction that lasting growth requires both purposeful leadership and caring relationships. I look forward to listening to your family, supporting our teachers, and helping each child take meaningful steps forward. Together, we can build a school culture that prepares children for a lifetime of learning and faithfulness.
